The Federation Synagogue in Elstree & Borehamwood
The small shul with the big heart.

Why Elstree & Borehamwood

A young community with everything you need.

Elstree & Borehamwood is the fastest growing Jewish community in the UK. The town is well served by two kosher shops, two butchers, a kosher bakery which doubles as a dairy restaurant and a meat restaurant. Borehamwood is a busy and vibrant town, offering great shops and excellent public amenities, including a large modern leisure centre, library, cinema and a 24 hours Tesco superstore. It's well served by some excellent Jewish primary schools, and is also home to Yaveh college, with Hertsmere Jewish Primary being only a short distance away in Radlett.

Other than our welcoming, friendly and intimate Shul (A Federation synagogue), there are two other orthodox shuls in the area; a Sephardi weekly minyan, and also a United Shul. There are a variety of events and learning opportunities on offer on a weekly basis, the three shuls also run joint events from time to time and that inevitably offers an opportunity to meet new people and mix with other friends. Importantly there is a Mikvah in Borehamwood which is open throughout the week, Friday night inclusive.

Catering for the growing number of children and young families there are two excellent Jewish nurseries, along with many other registered child minder groups catering for the community and beyond.

If you are interested in moving to Elstree and Borehamwood and would like to visit us for a Shabbat to explore the area and all that we have to offer, we would be happy to host you here to help you make up your mind. To arrange Shabbat hospitality or just discuss the merits of moving to this area, please get in touch.
